Number of reported measles cases in the U.S reaches second highest level in 25 years

The measles outbreak continues to grow in the United States as the number of reported cases have reportedly reached their second highest level in the past 25 years.

The center for disease control and prevention released the numbers Monday which say there are currently 90 new cases of measles in the United States.

That addition brings the total number of cases to five hundred and fifty-five already in 2019 alone.

No deaths have been reported as a result of the measles so far. However, New York is already taking steps to curve the spread of measles by initiating fines of up to $1,000.00 for individuals who are not vaccinated.

Worldwide there are currently 110-thousand cases of measles according to the world health organization.
