HERMANTOWN,MN– After a regional trucking company unexpectedly shut down and the closure is affecting people right here in the Northland.

LME a trucking company based out of Roseville, Minnesota served 10 states in the Mid-West including Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Around 3:30 pm yesterday employees were told to stop all operations and return to their site locations when they unexpectedly closed all 30 of their terminals, including the Hermantown location.

The closure leaves more than 600 employees without a job, 8 of which worked out of the Hermantown location.

The LME website had a statement posted that they will no longer be picking up or making deliveries due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

The statement also adds they will be utilizing Estes Express to assist in getting all freight delivered.

But over at the Hermantown location employees were going out on deliveries to the Iron Range in order to clear out their docks.

There is no word on why the company closed.

We reached out to LME multiple times for a comment today, but have not heard back.
