DULUTH, MN — The polls for the August 13, 2019 primary in Duluth and St. Louis County are now closed.

You can find results for the following races by clicking here:

  • Duluth Mayor
  • City Council At-Large seats
  • District 3 City Council seat
  • Special Election for the 5th District St. Louis County Board seat

The races for Duluth mayor and city council will narrow following Tuesday’s primary, and an empty St. Louis County Commissioner seat will be filled after a special election.

In the mayoral race, voters will choose between Caleb Anderson, Corey Ford, incumbent Emily Larson, Doris Queen Lavender, David Nolle, Jesse Peterson, Donald Raihala, John Socha or Daniel Weatherly to advance to the general election.

Incumbent Emily Larson has been Mayor of Duluth since January 2016, after receiving 72% of the vote in November 2015.

For the at-large city council seats, Stephen Abernethy, Arik Forsman, Noah Hobbs, Mike Mayou, Derek Medved, Nathaniel Rankin, and Matthew Stewart are vying to continue on in the race.

The two seats are currently held by incumbents Noah Hobbs and Arik Forsman.

In District 3, Henry Banks, Ryan Glenn, Theresa O’Halloran-Johnson and Roz Randorf are looking to fill the seat currently held by Em Westerlund.

The election for mayor and city councilors will be held on November 5.

Meanwhile, Keith Musolf and current Hermantown Mayor Wayne Boucher are on the ballot for a St. Louis County Commissioner seat.

The special election is being held due to former Commissioner Pete Stauber’s election to Congress.

The fifth district seat represents multiple townships in the region, including Solway, Midway, Lakewood, Genesen, Canosia, Brevator, and Duluth, as well as the cities of Hermantown, Rice Lake and Proctor.

If Boucher wins, a special election will be held at a later date for his seat.

Voters who missed the absentee, early voting deadline may still register at their polling place.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
