UPDATE: A family is still in shock after shots were fired outside their home overnight.
Angie Johnson was tucking her son Ricker into bed when shots rang out.
“My six-year-old came into bed and as he was standing in the window I heard a bunch of pops”, says Johnson.
Her son Ryker says, “It sounds like gun bullets but sounded like something else.”
Those pops, she thought were fireworks until she heard them hit her building.
Johnson found bullets inside her bedroom after the shooting occurred.
Johnson says her family is shaken up and she fears for her children’s safety.
“That was very scary since I have a house full of children. I have six children here,” she says.
Ryker said, “I was super scared because and I was going to get shot, gun bullets are very dangerous.”
UPDATE: Duluth Police say a 20-year-old man is in custody following a shots fired incident in Duluth’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.
According to police, they were called to a report of a robbery in the area of 24th Avenue West and 3rd Street just after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.
While investigating the robbery, officers say they heard the sound of gunshots, and saw a vehicle drive away at a high rate of speed.
Officers were able to stop the vehicle at the intersection of 24th Avenue West and 6th Street, and found evidence of the shooting.
At this time, no injuries ahve been reported, and it is believed that all parties were known to each other.
The driver is being held at the St. Louis County Jail for 2nd Degree Assault, Threats of Violence, and Reckless Discharge.
Formal charges are pending.
1:59 a.m. — Duluth Police are investigating after multiple reports of shots being fired Tuesday morning in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.
According to police, officers arrived on scene at 12:31 a.m. and found a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle was stopped nearby. No arrests have been made.
Authorities say evidence of gunfire was located in and near the intersection of 24th Ave West and 3rd Street.
Multiple witnesses and other people involved have been interviewed.
No injuries have been reported. The investigation is ongoing.
