PolyMet held an open house Wednesday night to give the community an update on plans for what they hope will be Minnesota’s first copper-nickel mine.

This comes after the company was awarded several major permits from the Minnesota DNR last month.

The gathering tonight was put on by PolyMet to celebrate the future of the mine and it’s potential impact on the Iron Range.

A spokesperson for PolyMet said around 300 people attended the event, which was held at Mesabi East High School in Aurora.
