SILVER BAY, MN– Cleveland Cliffs has announced a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its expansion project at Northshore Mining in Silver Bay.

The company will be celebrating Northshore Mining becoming the only U.S. based iron ore processing facility to produce low silica DR-grade pellets.

Cliffs broke ground on the project in March 2018. Company officials say work will be completed on schedule and will cost under $100 million.

According to the company, the ribbon-cutting celebration will be held August 7.
