Teen injured during weekend snowmobile crash in Bayfield County

TOWNSHIP OF DRUMMOND, WI — Authorities say a 14-year-old boy is recovering from injuries at a Duluth hospital after losing control of his snowmobile Sunday afternoon.

According to the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were called to the area of North Delta Road (Snomobile Trail 6), north of Jann’s Road in the Township of Drummond shortly before 3:30 p.m.

Authorities say the 14-year-old Poplar boy was northbound on North Delta Road with 15 other snowmobiles when he left the road and rolled over.

The Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office says both the snowmobile and the boy hit trees after the rollover.

His condition is unknown at this time.
