Minnesota legislature convenes for first time of the year today.

The 2019 Minnesota Legislature convenes at noon TODAY.

There is now a new governor, a new balance of power and a projected $1.5 billion budget surplus that might make deals easier to reach than in 2018.

Gov.-elect Tim Walz was sworn in on Monday.

Democrats will take control of the House, while Senate Republicans will have a two-seat majority, making Minnesota the only state in the entire country with a divided Legislature.

We will have live coverage at the state capitol so be sure to join us later tonight at 5 and 6 p.m.
