Duluth man to contest murder charge

DULUTH, MN — A Duluth man accused of killing his wife in a domestic abuse incident in Duluth’s Chester Park neighborhood is contesting his charge.

In court Monday morning, Ryan Jazdzewski, 40, contested the second degree murder charge, and will have a contested omnibus hearing on August 29th.

Jazdzewski is accused of killing his wife, Nicole, 41, on June 2nd.

According to court documents, police were called to a home near East 8th Street and 16th Avenue East on Chester Park Drive around 8:23 p.m.

Police had received a report of a 7-year-old girl screaming in an alley that her parents were fighting, and when officers arrived, they heard screaming coming from inside the home.

When officers walked in, they said they found Nicole unresponsive, and she had been stabbed several times in her torso.

During an interview with police, Ryan Jazdzewski told authorities he had a “horrible fight” with his wife and “lost it.”

Jazdzewski is still being held on a $750,000 bail.
