Former Governor to speak in Duluth on PolyMet proposal

DULUTH, MN– Former Minnesota Governor Arne Carlson is expected to share his concerns with PolyMet’s proposed copper nickel mine at Duluth City Hall on Monday.

Carlson has been a long time critic of the proposed PolyMet mine.

He believes that Governor Walz and the legislature must act now to protect downstream communities.

His appearance follows court decisions that put three of PolyMet’s permits on hold, including its permit to mine.

He’ll be joined by the group Duluth for Clean Water and several city councilor candidates.

Carlson served two terms as Governor in the 90’s.
