City closes Duluth’s Park Point to non-residents

DULUTH, MN– The City of Duluth is only allowing residents to access Park Point Monday evening.

According to city officials, Duluth Police are checking identification before the Aerial Lift Bridge.

“Residents who live on Park Point are able to get home, and are able to leave Park Point if they choose. Residents should feel free to stay home if they choose, and are able to leave if they chose to,” city officials wrote.

Additional street closures include 131st Avenue West at Highway 23.

Finally, the area around the Park Point Beach House and Recreation Center has been closed to standing water.

There are also many down power lines throughout the area. The public is encouraged to not drive over anything that looks like a down line.

City officials also say there are several areas with black street lights.

“Please drive with caution, and if you come to a light that has a signal with no power, please treat it as a four-way stop,” city officials wrote.

The City continues to remind the public not to drive through standing water.
