Confidence continues to grow for UMD women’s hoops

UMD women’s hoops had a pretty great ending to 2018… The team went 3-1 in their last four games and closed out the year with a comeback win over sS. Cloud state at home in Romano last Sunday.

That comeback was thanks in part to freshman forward Brooke Olson who had a career-high 17 points– she was 4 for 5 from the free-throw line. After the win, the Bulldogs are 6-3 overall on the season, and with so many girls stepping up in each game, there’s no limits to put on this squad…

“Coach really emphasizes competition and so I think having Sarah with me, we can always bang inside. She really allows me the opportunity to get better at each practice and I hope that I allow her to get better at each practice too. My thing is get 1% better each day and then you’ll keep growing and growing so I think that’s been our focus as a team. I know that we have such great potential. It’s really fun to play and see us grow,” Olson said.
