DULUTH, MN – The 2016 and 2017 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Women’s Golf Player of the Year Arica Sheff will take over the St. Scholastica men’s and women’s golf programs on an interim basis; Director of Athletics Brian Jamros announced on Monday.

Sheff takes over for her former coach Eric Anderson, who resigned from the position in early December. Sheff volunteered her time helping out Anderson and the coaching staff this past fall.

Sheff played two and a half seasons for the Saints, which concluded at the 2018 NCAA Division III Golf Championships last spring. In her time with the Saints, Sheff won a program-best nine tournaments and recorded a program-high 22 top-5 finishes in 29 events. Her scoring average of 88.4 is the best in program’s young history.

Sheff was named to the UMAC All-Decade Team after leading the conference in scoring average in both UMAC seasons she participated in 2016 and 2017.

Sheff was part of two UMAC Championship teams that advanced to the NCAA Championships. This spring she will be guiding the CSS women’s team to its third straight Nationals appearance. The men’s and women’s teams are expected to resume their spring seasons this April.
