Duluth, Minn. – For the past few weeks the UMD Bulldogs have been an incomplete squad while a few of their players were off at the IIHF World Juniors in Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia. Team USA managed to come away with a silver medal.

Mikey Anderson, Noah Cates, Dylan Samberg and head coach Scott Sandelin rejoined the team this week. Now the focus is on a tough test with st. Cloud state this weekend, but the guys still expressed how much a positive experience the tournament was while being away.

“Playing with and against some of the best players from our country and from other countries, it’s definitely a very fun experience and getting to know some of those guys off the ice it was a once in a lifetime deal. Obviously our goal was to get a gold medal but it’s still pretty fresh and it stings when you think about what we got but when we look back a week from now now it’s starting to hit me a little more of how big of a deal it was to bring home a silver medal and it’s the fourth year that USA hockey has gotten a medal at that tournament and we take a lot of pride in that,” freshman defenseman and Team USA captain Mikey Anderson said.

The Bulldgogs take on SCSU this Friday and Saturday at 7:07pm on the My9 Sports Network.
