Duluth, Minn. — There’s a new associate bench boss in town for the UMD women’s hockey team. After four seasons with the Bulldogs, Laura Bellamy has been promoted to associate head coach. The 2009 Duluth Denfeld grad has helped the bulldog program to a 70-60-14 record over her time. She’s also seen a WCHA postseason record of 8-5.
In a statement, head coach Maura Crowell had this to say about Bellamy: “As a native Duluthian, she has a genuine love for Bulldog hockey and it’s what brought her back here four years ago. She has worked tirelessly to bring UMD women’s hockey back to national prominence through her recruiting efforts and daily work. She’s a great role model for our players and all of us here feel fortunate to have her on our staff.”
