DRAFTED: Marshall’s Ben Pederson selected by the Baltimore Orioles

SECAUCUS, NJ – Duluth Marshall senior pitcher Ben Pedersen was officially drafted by the Baltimore Orioles with the first pick of the 38th round in the MLB draft.

Pedersen is currently committed to division one Missouri to play college baseball. He will have until July 6th to decide if he will forgo playing in college to enter the Orioles system. If he does not, Pedersen will have the opportunity to enter the MLB draft following his senior year of college.

The Hilltoppers right hander has been throwing heat all spring long, with a strong four pitch arsenal. His fastball peaks in the mid 90mph range, recently recorded at 94mph.

Duluth Marshall continues their current playoff run on Thursday evening in the section 7AA championship at Wade Stadium against Esko, with Pedersen as the likely starter.
