Howie’s Hockey Notebook: All-Good Guy High School Hockey Team

My 2019 All-Good Guy High School Hockey Team includes six classy student-athletes representing Hermantown, Duluth East, Duluth Denfeld and Cloquet.

Good Guys are selected for their admirable character on and off the ice, including how they represent their family, community, school and friends in public.

Making the prestigious list this season:

Hermantown junior forward Blake Biondi — Classy. Humble. High character. Polite. Respectful. Great interview. Great smile. Big-league family. Excellent student. Elite hockey skills.

Hermantown senior forward Elliott Peterson — Humble. Great leader in the locker room and in the community. Team-first, three-sport elite athlete. Warm, encouraging smile. Infectiously positive.

Duluth East senior forward Ryder Donovan — Humble x 1,000. Million dollar smile. Unmatched character. Amazing work ethic academically and athletically. High-end model potential.

Duluth East senior forward Ricky Lyle — One of the nicest, most sincere humans on this planet. Humble. Respectful. Poised. Engaged. Great interview. Hardest-working high school hockey player in northeastern Minnesota.

Duluth Denfeld junior goaltender Shawn Easty — Tremendous poise. Articulate. Smart. Humble. Respectful. Awesome communicator, including with adults. Huge hockey upside. Highly respected by hockey teammates and coaching staff.

Cloquet sophomore defenseman Mason Langenbrunner — Ridiculously classy. Character all-world. Poised off-the-charts. Great student. Tremendous communicator. Genuinely humble, yet confident. Unlimited hockey upside.
. . .

Psst: Hermantown won’t opt up to Class 2A, as hockey supporters push for a second indoor arena. Look for Hermantown to add synthetic turf to Corey Veech Memorial Field this summer.
