UMD advances to Final Faceoff with sweep of Bemidji State

DULUTH, MN – The University of Minnesota Duluth women’s hockey team won 4-3 over Bemidji State on Saturday afternoon to complete their WCHA quarterfinal series sweep.

The Beavers scored two goals to open the first period, but UMD responded with four unanswered goal to earn the win.

The fourth seeded Bulldogs advance to take on top seed Minnesota in the Final Faceoff next Saturday, March 9th. Game time is set for 2:07pm at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis.

Should UMD win their semifinal game, they would advance to take on the winner of #2 Wisconsin/#3 Ohio State on Sunday, for a chance at the WCHA championship, as well as an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
