BUFFALO, NY–The University of Minnesota-Duluth men’s hockey team has defeated Providence in the Frozen Four semifinals by a score of 4-1, advancing the team to the national championship game for the third year in a row.

The Bulldogs will play the winner of the University of Denver and the University of Massachusetts at 7 p.m. CT Saturday in Buffalo, New York.

Among UMD fans was Duluth City Councilor Arik Forsman who says he and his family are proud to cheer on their team Thursday night.

The city councilor had this to say about his favorite team.

“We fell in love with UMD hockey when we were going to UMD as students together. So, it’s super fun now. We bring all our kids to the games that we’ve gone to, but never these games the Frozen Four.”
