DULUTH, MN – Reigning NCAA DII Outdoor 60m hurdle champion Danielle Kohlwey took care of business once again at the NSIC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Kohlwey pulled away to win the 110m high hurdles with a time of 13.40, securing an automatic bid to NCAA DII Outdoor nationals. Her win came after graduating on Saturday morning with a degree in marketing and graphic design.
“It’s been a whirlwind to go graduate and come here and run on our home track, this is my actual first time running, on this track competing, so that’s pretty cool as well,” said Kohlwey. “It’s pretty cool to end it that way, and being able to actually graduate and walk for my parents was bittersweet because if conference was anywhere else I wouldn’t have been able to.”
“I have like 15 friends and family and it’s awesome to have them come up here, watch me graduate and watch me compete all in one weekend, and then celebrate later tonight.”
UMD freshman Haleigh Reindl also won the 800m run with a time of 2:12.32.
