We know many people have been anxiously awaiting a captain announcement. Hunter Shepard an Nick Wolff will both be wearing C’s this year for the Bulldogs. Story to follow.

Shepard was voted MVP by his teammates after a dominant postseason run, leading UMD to their second consecutive NCAA Division I title. He was also a finalist for the Mike Richter award, given to the nation’s top collegiate goaltender.

He allowed only three goals in four games throughout the 2018-19 NCAA tournament, and seven in all eight postseason contests.

Wolff is one of the Bulldogs other three seniors, who was an assistant captain in the 2018-19 season. He notched 18 points, with an overall plus/minus rating of +19. Entering his fourth season playing with UMD, he has played in 123 total games as a Bulldog

Although head coach Scott Sandelin did not like to rank his lines, Wolff started as the left defenseman for much of his junior year.

UMD will open the season on Friday, October 11 against UMass-Lowell, where they will raise their third national championship banner.
