Marshall students step up to host “Empty Bowl Fundraiser”

DULUTH, MN — Some Duluth Marshall students are taking the reigns to help feed the hungry after a major annual fundraiser almost didn’t happen this year.

The Empty Bowl Fundraiser was held at Duluth Marshall Tuesday.

Typically, Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank hosts the event, which auctions off hand-painted ceramic bowls to raise money for the local food bank.

But this year, the organization wasn’t able to host it.  So the high schoolers stepped in.

We’re not sure yet exactly how much money they raised, but the bowls ranged in price from about $10 to $30.
