Community members take to the streets to protest abortion bans

DULUTH, MN– Community members gathered in downtown Duluth this afternoon to protest recent abortion bans.

The “Show the Roe” rally was at the popular downtown protest corner of Superior Street and Lake Avenue.

Organizers said the event was planned in solidarity with several hundred “Stop the Bans” events across the country, many of which took place last week.

According to the rally’s Facebook event page, organizers said that people must unite against all attempts to overturn Roe v. Wade, and boldly stand up for abortion rights.

“Well, I think that an injury to one is an injury to all, and there’s definitely a trend to challenge abortion rights across the country. We’re not truly ever safe, there’s always an assault on abortion rights,” said Heather Bradford with the Feminist Justice League.”Even though something happens in another state, we still have to show solidarity with the people who live in those states.”

More than 200 people came to the rally.
