Hibbing man seriously injured in Iron Range crash

HIBBING, MN– A Hibbing man is recovering from life-threatening injuries after a single vehicle crash on the Iron Range Tuesday night.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Wade Wenneson, 61, was travelling west on the shoulder of Highway 37 around 8 p.m.

Authorities say he apparently over-corrected and lost control, eventually striking trees on the shoulder.

Wenneson was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Authorities say alcohol is believed to have been a factor, and Wenneson was apparently not wearing a seat belt.
