Voters elect Musolf to Stauber’s former St. Louis Co. Board seat

HERMANTOWN, MN — Keith Musolf has defeated current Hermantown Mayor Wayne Boucher Tuesday night in the District 5 St. Louis County Commissioner race.

Musolf narrowly defeated Boucher by 89 votes, with a total of 994-905, with 52.18 percent of the vote.

Pete Stauber vacated the seat after his election to U.S. Congress in November 2018.

The fifth district seat represents multiple townships in the region, including Solway, Midway, Lakewood, Genesen, Canosia, Brevator, and Duluth, as well as the cities of Hermantown, Rice Lake and Proctor.
