Elk Mound man charged with 12th OWI

EAU CLAIRE COUNTY, WI (WQOW) – An Elk Mound man is charged with his 12th OWI after officers said he was found passed out at an Eau Claire gas station.

Keith Bondie, 60, was arrested Saturday at the Kwik Trip on North Town Hall Road.

EMS told police that Bondie was found passed out and slumped over the wheel and they were unable to wake him.

When police arrived, Bondie eventually got out of the car. He told officers he had five or six beers two hours before arriving at Kwik Trip.

A breathalyzer test came back with a reading of 0.239, nearly three times the legal limit to drive.

Bondie’s most recent OWI conviction was in 2016 in Chippewa County at which time his driver privileges were revoked.

He’s being held on a $10,000 cash bond. He’s back in court next month.
