ASHLAND, WI– A new bridge on the ore dock in Ashland has been closed due to what are being described as several cosmetic and structural issues.
According to Ashland city officials, the bridge will be temporarily removed to a fabrication shop, where structural corrections can be completed.
Once corrections are made, the material will be hot dipped galvanized again and reinstalled into the site.
The bridge is part of a project taking place over the past several years to renovate the old ore dock into a modern attraction.
The bridge is expected to be finished around October 15th.
