MN DNR to give oral arguments on PolyMet permits

ST. PAUL, MN — The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will give oral arguments to the Minnesota Court of Appeals Wednesday on the PolyMet project and the permits the agency issued.

This comes after the Minnesota Court of Appeals issued a temporary stay, or suspension, on two PolyMet permits including the dam safety permit and the Permit to Mine just over a month ago.

The court cited two reasons for the stay including Glencore becoming a majority owner in the company and concerns over the Brumadinho Dam collapse in Brazil.
