Popular Two Harbors restaurant closes doors

TWO HARBORS, MN– A popular restaurant along Highway 61 in Two Harbors has suddenly closed.

According to a Facebook Post, Carmody 61 is closed until further notice. The post does not specify why the business has closed, or if it plans on reopening.

The restaurant is owned by the same group that also owns Carmody Irish Pub in downtown Duluth.

One of the managing partners, Rick Boo, passed away in late August at the age of 60.

The business has recently been on a liquor posting list for the Minnesota Department of Revenue. This is a list of businesses who can’t purchase liquor for resale because they were late paying taxes.

They were taken off that list on October 21st.

The owners didn’t respond to immediate calls from our reporter.
