Skies will start to clear throughout the day as an area of high pressure settles in, however, lake effect snow will continue over to our east, thanks to a breezy northwest wind around 5-15 mph. A Winter weather advisory remains in place until noon for Iron, Gogebic and Ontonagon counties. Highs today range from the single digits north to the upper teens south.
Looking at partly cloudy to mostly clear skies for tonight. Winds will turn westerly to southwesterly, around 3-8 mph. A very cold night is in store with lows from the single digits below to single digits above.
The high pressure will keep weather conditions on the mostly sunny to sunny side. Winds will remain out of the southwest, therefore, allowing temperatures to trend warmer. Highs Friday still chilly however, in the mid teens to lower 20s, but expect mid 20s to near 30 for the weekend.
Most of next week looks to remain quiet, other than a slight chance of a few snow showers Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will remain mild, in the upper 20s to mid 30s.
